Heavy rains in state: Rail services disrupted in Kottayam

T'puram: There seems to be no respite from the heavy rains that is lashing the state for the past 2 days. Moderate to heavy rains were witnessed today and yesterday. According to Met office, moderate to very heavy rains are expected to continue in the next 48 hours. Monsoon showers are expected over Kerala, Karnataka and Goa and the cyclonic storm lay centered over the Arabian Sea. It is because of this cyclonic trough that the state is witnessing heavy rainfall. Due to landslide on the Kottayam -Changanassery railway line, rail services were disrupted. The railway authorities are working to resume the traffic by clearing the tracks.
