Paddy field to be leveled to build National Highway

Kannur: The national highway is being built in Keezhattoor, a stronghold of CPM in Kannur, allegedly by levelling paddy fields. Kuppam- Kuttikkol road will be built on a filled paddy field and the people of Keezhattoor are on strike against this. Here, paddy is harvested twice in a year in this field; it has never been left barren. The plan is to fill 250 acres of paddy field to build a six lane road.
