CPM-BJP understanding to end political violence in Kannur

Kannur: The CPM and the BJP on Saturday decided take concrete steps to end prolonged political conflict in Kannur district.The decision was taken at a peace meeting held between the CPM and BJP here on Saturday. CPM state Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, CPM District Secretary P Jayarajan, BJP state President Kummanam Rajasekharan, RSS leader Gopalan Kutty and district president Ranjith took part in the meeting. The leaders pledged to take effective measures to curb recurrence of violent incidents.Both the parties will give strict instructions to their cadres to refrain from conflicts. If any kind of disputes emerge, the regional units should ensure that the issue does not flare up.
