Another BJP leader in bribe scandal

Malappuram: In the wake of the S R Educational & Charitable Trust cash-for-affiliation scam a ‘Mathrubhumi News’ exposé reveals that P R Rasmilnath, a Parliament and Assembly BJP candidate, mulcted re. 10 lakh from the pension savings of a Manjeri-native. The complainant alleges that an acquaintance, Kuttan, approached him with the promise of bank job for his son. Accompanied by Sethumadhavan of Pulpatta they went to the home of the district BJP Gen. Sec., who allegedly demanded the bribe. It was paid into Sethumadhavan’s BoB account. The job never materialised and on missing three repayment dates a police complaint was filed. Manjeri CI NB Shyju informed that the amount has since been returned.
