Chicken stalls in state closed indefinitely

Kannur: Traders have closed chicken stalls across the state indefinitely to protest the state government directive to reduce prices. There is now an acute shortage of chicken in the State. Since chicken has been exempted from GST, the benefit of exemption of tax by 14.5% must be passed on to the consumers, says the Government. But traders are not willing to accept the government stand.
