Oil leak catches fire: Protests against Tamil Nadu ONGC

Chennai: Protests are getting stronger against ONGC's oil well mining in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Last week,oil had spilled over to the nearby paddy field and caught fire. People expressed tehir anger against police and ONGC officials who had arrived for inspection. Police used force to disperse the villagers. Police beat up protesters including women. Opposition leader MK Stalin and others came out against this action.
