Higher price than MRP to be barred in airports, theatres

New Delhi: The Central Government has issued an order barring the sale packed food and water at prices higher than the MRP. This will put an end to the higher than MRP prices being charged at airports and theatres. At present airports charge twice the price of MRP. The order comes into effect from 1 January, 2018.. The directive is part of the changes in the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, which will come into effect from January 1, 2018.
