Vigilance Director issues circular to restrict graft cases

T'puram: Vigilance Director Loknath Behera has issued a circular, seeking to regulate the number of corruption cases in the state.Hereafter, Vigilance units have to get special permission from the Director to file FIR in cases involving IAS officials, ministers, former ministers, political leaders and senior police officials above the rank of DYSP. Also, the Director should be informed of corruption complaints involving huge amounts of money.The circular has been sent to all Vigilance units in the state.A copy of all the complaints received at the Vigilance offices should be sent to the Director who will decide if further steps should be taken, according to the circular.
