Kannur Police tighten control over 'rent a car'

Kannur: The police have decided to tighten control over 'rent a car' dealings in Kannur. This decision comes in the context of crimes including murders being committed by misusing rented cars. A rented car was used by the killers of RSS worker Ramanthali Biju. Many a time, car owners do not collect even basic information about their customers. From now on, prior permission of the police will be needed for renting out cars.
