District Cooperative Banks disbanded

T'puram: The government has dismissed the district cooperative banks in the state. The governor has given his nod to the ordinance which brought in the necessary amendment in the cooperation law. The action has been taken to do away with paper societies and to ensure voting rights for the deserving agricultural cooperative societies. But KPCC president MM Hassan alleged that the government action violated the model code of conduct for elections. Of the 14 DCBs in the state, 13 were in UDF control.
