Police arrest Nehru Group Chairman P Krishnadas

Thrissur: The police on Monday arrested Nehru Group Chairman P Krishnadas on charges of assaulting a student in Lakkidi college. Krishnadas, along with legal advisor Suchitra, were taken into custody by a team led by Thrissur Rural SP. Meanwhile, he filed an anticipatory bail application before the court. The police acted on a complaint filed by LLB student Shaheer Shaoukat Ali (22) alleging that Krishnadas assaulted him for complaining about the Lakkidi Nehru College's unlawful cash collection. According to the student, his father, who questioned the assault, was threatened by the Chairman. Also the student was forced to withdraw the complaint regarding cash collection.
