No plans to replace Jacob Thomas as Vigilance head: Pinarayi

T'puram: Backing Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) Director Jacob Thomas, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the officer would not be replaced Too many persons are awaiting his removal. Their wishes are not going to materialise, he told the assembly here on Thursday. The CM was replying to the notice of adjournment motion given by M Vincent MLA seeking discussion into the allegations of corruption against the Vigilance chief and media reports on accumulation of disproportionate assets. Being the Vigilance Director, Jacob Thomas has taken stringent action against corrupt officials. Action cannot be initiated against him on the basis of media reports. If he has erred, then he won't be protected, Pinarayi noted.
