Bengalouru: The farming community is hit badly by the ongoing summer heat with most of the crops destroyed. The crisis has worsened with drop in water levels in dams and water bodies drying up in the state. Out of the 12 dams in the state, the water level is below 15 % of the total capacity. Due to this supply of drinking water and irrigation are bearing the brunt. The farmers who resorted to taking loans are staring at a debt trap.
