High Court criticises Vigilance again

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has came out strongly against the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) once again. The Court on Thursday warned the corruption watchdog not to cross its jurisdiction. If it happens again, the court said, it will be forced to intervene. The HC said the Vigilance must only investigate matters related to corruption. The court had earlier come out against the Vigilance while considering the bar bribery case. The latest observations came while hearing the nepotism case against former Minister and CPM leader EP Jayarajan. The court ordered a stay on the case and also issued guidelines for the functioning of the agency. The HC also sought some clarification from the Vigilance on the case
