Union Budget 2017, a complete analysis @ Super Prime Time

On the first budget presented after demonetisation Finance Minister Arun Jaitley did a tight rope walk trying to woo the people keeping in mind UP polls and keeping alive on promises that led to demonetisation. His announcements included tax breaks for individuals and companies. Jaitley said the income tax rate for those earning between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh will be cut to 5 percent from the existing 10 percent. There will be 10 percent surcharge on those earning between Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore. Cash donations to political parties have been capped at Rs 2000 from once source in order to bring transparency in political funding.
