Why corrupt officials not removed, asks Vigilance Court

T'puram: The Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court on Friday lashed out at the state government asking why the government is letting officials who have been involved in corruption, to continue in service. The Court was considering the petition against Chief Secretary S M Vijayanand when it made this observation. However, the files submitted by the Vigilance were mainly against Tom Jose. After examining these files, the court asked the government why such people are allowed to continue in service when the vigilance has found that Tom Jose was involved in corruption to the tune of Rs 2.40 crore. The prosecution could not give a satisfactory reply to the court.
