Demonetisation questions stare at Urjit Patel

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Urjit Patel on Friday told the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that the cash crunch in the country post the November 8 demonetisation drive will normalise soon. The PAC has given Urjit Patel 15-days time to submit answers to a slew of questions posted to him by the committee. The RBI governor failed to disclose the amount of money that returned to the banking system post demonetisation. PAC had posted 100 odd questions to the RBI chief about demonetisation. Most of the answers which according to sources were not satisfactory following which he has been allotted 15 days time.
