Centre against allowing Jallikattu; wide protests in TN

New Delhi: The Centre has dismissed the Tamil Nadu government's plea for a special ordinance to run Jallikattu. The Supreme Court had banned the traditional sport held as part of Pongal citing animal cruelty. Protesting against the centre's stand various organisations organised the Jallikattu in several parts of Tamil Nadu on Friday. DMK also criticized the state government and the centre for endorsing the ban on the traditional bull-taming sport.
