38-member contingent to attend National Tribal Carnival

Kozhikode: A 38-member contingent of 34 tribals and 4 Kirtads’ officials, will attend the first National Tribal Carnival to be held in Dilli from Oct 25-28. Aneesh and his troupe from Wayanad will present the Kambala dance of Paniyas, while Jagadeesh and Malappulayas from Idukki will perform the traditional ‘Aattam.’ Rajumani and his team will exhibit their craft skills using bamboo and reed. V S Subash, the nodal officer, speaks on the proposed event to be attended by about 1,600 artists and around 15,000 delegates from across the country. Eminent tribal personalities from the fields of art and culture, academics, professions, sports, etc., have also been invited.
