Do more for Malayalam: Speaker G Karthikeyan

As Kerala celebrates 57th state formation day today, former Minister for Culture, bibliophile & Speaker, G Karthikeyan joins ‘Morning Show’ as guest. While welcoming the week-long festivity in connection with Malayalam getting the ‘classical language’ tag, he wants us to go beyond mere tokenism like wearing traditional dress, conducting programmes and instead make the language a more integral part of our life, reflecting our ethos. He also wants propagation of the language and decries the parental fad of boasting that their children does not speak their mother tongue. It is only by learning Malayalam that we can properly understand our culture and history.
