Talks between govt and pvt med college managements fail

T'puram: The discussion between the government and self financing medical college managements failed to evolve a consensus. The colleges did not agree on the demand of the government that all seats should be filled based on the merit. The government stand is that admission should be given based on Neet ranking. But management opposed the government stand that 35% management and 10% NRI rank list should be filled from merit list based on Neet. Managements also demanded that the fees should be hiked to Rs 15 lakh in management as well as merit seat. Management representatives said that they would approach court if a favourable verdict do not come from government.
