Advocates turn thugs manhandle journalists

Kochi: Tension prevailed on the Kerala High Court premises on Wednesday in connection with arrest of government pleader Dhanesh Mathew Manjooran in a molestation case. Alleging that Dhanesh was trapped in a false case, the lawyers manhandled the media personnel who reached the High Court premises to cover the proceedings.The lawyers assaulted Asianet reporter Salam P Hidrose, cameraman Rajesh Thakazhi and MediaOne cameraman Monish, snatched their cameras and destroyed them. Forcibly closing the media room functioning in the High Court, the lawyers also verbally abused media personnel, including women. They had claimed that the high court ordered to close down the media room for three days.
