Bengal issue: dissension continues in CPM

Thiruvananthapuram: The dissension among top leaders of CPM over CPM-Congress alliance in West Bengal still continue. CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said here today that party with the help of the people will strongly protest against the brutal attacks on the party workers. Where as, former general secretary Prakash Karat said that he will not allow to continue the Congress alliance in the state anymore. It was Yechury alone who took the greatest risk in the 2016 state assembly elections to contest along with Congress. And the result was disastrous one. The Prakash Karat group, which holds the majority in the CPI(M)’s Politburo, is now in a stronger position.
