People protest prevent closing of Palatt school
Kozhikode: Officials of education department had to turn back without implementing a court order on closure of a fifty year old Palatt AUP school following public protest today at Kozhikode district. The officials led by the Assistant Educational Officer reached the school this afternoon to close it down. The public, members of Palatt School Protection Committee, laid siege to the school to protest against the closure order. As the situation threatened to turn out to be violent, the officials went back without implementing the order.
