Ban on diesel vehicles: State govt may approach SC

T'puram: Kerala Government may approach Supreme Court against the National Green Tribunal's order that all diesel vehicles older than 10 years in six major cities of the state to be taken off the roads in the next 30 days. The bench of the tribunal in Kochi had also said that no new permits for vehicles with more than 2000 cc engine capacity except public transport will be given and violators will be fined Rs 5000. Transport Minister AK Saseendran, said that a final decision would be taken after consulting the chief minister.
