Ban on fireworks: CM to hold all-party meet

T'puram: Chief minister Oommen Chandy informed that the need to ban fireworks will be discussed at an all-party meet to be held on Thursday at 2 pm. The local residents, government servants and prominent leaders all rose to the occasion to join in rescue efforts in the tragedy and all has to be appreciated. The chief minister also thanked the Prime Minister and the Central Government in extending their valuable help at the time of disaster. Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala added that the government is looking for the practicability of banning fireworks. Meanwhile BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan said banning fireworks is not possible. The authorities should take necessary steps to avoid accidents, he added.
