Palmolein case: Govt to approach HC to extend hearing

Kochi: State government and former Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson will approach High Court for extending the hearing of palmolein case. It is pointed out that the move comes in the backdrop of the upcoming assembly elections as any adverse comments during the hearing could have a direct impact on the election. The Thrissur Vigilance Court was going to hear the case on March 29. Earlier, the petition made by Jiji Thomson to remove the him from the accused was rejected by the court.
