Narath arms training case: 21 accused get jail terms

Kochi: The NIA special court has found 21 accused in the Narath weapon training camp case guilty. One person has been acquitted. The court sentenced first accused V P Abdul Khader to seven years in jail and imposed a fine of Rs 5000 on him. The other 20 got five-year jail terms and fine of Rs 5000 each. The case is that activists of the Popular friend and the SDPI conducted an arms training camp in a building owned by Thanal Charitable Trust from April 23, 2013, with the intent of causing a riot. The trial in the case began on November 23. Among the cases in Kerala investigated by the NIA, the court proceedings concluded in the shortest period in Narath case.
