Injured old man dies after lying 30 mts on road, bleeding
T'puram: An old man, who got grievously injured in an accident in the heart of the city, succumbed to his injuries later as as nobody cared to attend to him or take him to the hospital on time. He was hit by a bus at East Fort, near the Pazhavangadi Ganapathi temple, and both his legs got injured. But, he lay there unattended for half-an-hour bleeding profusely as wayfarers turned a blind eye to the hapless old man. The police also failed to act on time though a control room vehicle was nearby. Half-an-hour later, when a police ambulance came and took him to the government medical college where he breathed his last in a few hours.
