‘Chitra Santhe’ softens B’luru’s tech image

B’luru: The 13th edition of ‘Chitra Santhe’ {painting fair} held on the first Sunday of the New Year by Chitra Kala Parishat at Kumara Krupa Road enthralled nearly 3 lakh art lovers. 1,170 artists exhibited their paintings from 8-to-8 on the 2-km traffic-free stretch. Of the 1,170 artefacts, around 500 are from Karnataka, 5 from abroad and a large number from WB. In 2015, 1,250 artists had participated. The intention is to propagate art and reach out to the masses, with proceeds totally belonging to artists and the parishath doesn’t take any percentage, in order to contest the art gallery-commission-percentage politics. This art carnival also softens Bengaluru’s hi-tech image.
