BEM UPS students sell painted liquor bottles to raise funds

Kozhikode: Students of Bilathikulam BEM UP School are transmuting empty liquor bottles into things of beauty to fund their humanitarian activities. They had chanced upon these worthless objects while cleaning roads on Gandhi Jayanthi day. After cleaning, these are attractively painted, turned into pretty artefacts and sold in an exhibition. Visitors magnanimously paid for the decorative bottles. Shahnaz, a seventh standard revealed that the amount thus obtained will be used to bring medical relief to patients. It teaches the great lesson that all waste has commercial potential. Their work also throws into relief the desultory nature of the conduct of Gandhi Jayanthi by others.
