Mullapperiyar: Water level rises to 141.8 feet

Kumily: In the wake of heavy rains in the catchment areas of Mullapperiyar dam, the water levels rose to an alarming 141.8 feet. Tamil Nadu has increased the intake of water from the dam. Meanwhile, deputy collector in charge of disaster management T Rajan has been transferred. The officer scheduled to replace him is yet to assume charges. If the water levels in the dam increases further, the situation is such that water would have to be diverted to Kerala, The transfer at such a juncture has raised many eye brows.
