Jacob Thomas seeks consent to move court against CM

T'puram: In an unprecedented move, DGP Jacob Thomas handed over a letter to the Chief Secretary seeking permission to move court against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. The letter says the CM made disparaging remarks against him for initiating action against flat owners and he wants to approach the court. Jacob Thomas sought the Chief Secretary’s consent to file a defamation case if the CM fails to withdraw his statements within 10 days. The Chief Secretary has handed over the letter to CM. However, he has not responded officially in this regard. It may be noted that this is first-of-its-kind move in the history of the state that an official in the rank of DGP seeking nod to take legal action against CM.
