Awareness classes for drivers

Malappuram: Motor vehicles department has initiated action on road safety measures. Their aim is to impart road safety awareness to all private bus drivers in the district. Awareness classes will be held every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Police, excise and health departments, social workers, media and psychologists will also associate with the classes. All those attending will be provided food and a compensation of Rs. 250 per day. RTO has made it mandatory for drivers to attend classes by this Nov 1. There will be follow-up classes after six months. The RTO also announced that expert drivers will be rewarded during the road safety week.
