Rampage in Washington navy yard shocks US

New York: A lone gunman, Aran Alexis, a 34-year-old subcontractor and former reservist, was among the 13 killed in a shooting mayhem in the high security naval complex in the heart of Washington DC, yesterday. Around 3000 people work in the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters, on the banks of the Anacostia River, a few miles from the White House. Among the victims, Vishnu Pandit {61} living for past 20 years in North Potomac, Maryland, might be of Indian origin. President Obama wearily lamented 'yet another mass shooting,' and promised that federal and local law enforcement officials would work together 'seamlessly' to investigate.
