Bar bribery: Rift in Kerala Cong (M) widens

Kottayam: The rift in the Kerala Congress (M), grappling with a huge crisis following a damning verdict of the vigilance court in the bar bribery case, has worsened as some of the leaders have come out into the open against KM Mani. Even as Mani refuses to resign, a section of leaders feel that he should at least quit Law Ministry. Former MLA and party general secretary P C Joseph said he would write to K M Mani and P J Joseph to convene an urgent party meet on the issue. The present crisis could have been avoided had Mani resigned soon after the allegations were raised, P C Joseph had said. But, Mani dismissed the demand raised by Joseph and said the chairman of the party would decide when to convene party meetings.
