‘Selfie-swipe’ generation lured to pen letters

Bengaluru: In an attempt to entice the ‘selfie-swipe’ generation into the art of snail mail, Dept of Posts, Karnataka Circle organised a letter-writing competition, attended by nearly 500 students. They had to write to grandparents on ‘My favourite book’/‘A day in my school’/‘How I spent my vacation’. It was held for 2 categories: classes 1-5 and 6-10. Prizes await the best 3 wordsmiths, with the winners qualifying for the competition at the national level. Children are eagerly awaiting the reaction of their grandparents on receiving an unexpected missive. Jyotika and postal employee Devraj share their sentiments.
