26 liquor outlets closed in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: On Gandhi Jayanthi day, 26 more liquor outlets in Kerala have shut down. The move is part of the government's liquor policy to shut down 10 percent of liquor outlets in the state in a phased manner. Out of this 22 outlets of beverages corporation and 4 outlets of Consumerfed are being newly closed now. Last year also 10 percent of liquor shops were closed in the month of October. The government's liquor policy aims to close 10 per cent of liquor outlets every year to bring down the liquor consumption. The state government had closed all bars except those in five star category early this year.
