Congress facing fund crunch asks MPs to donate salary

New Delhi: Congress party is facing severe financial crisis which has made the party turn to his MPs to fill its coffer. Congress national treasurer Motilal Vora has written a letter demanding that all Congress MPs should donate one month's salary to the party fund. Congress have 68 MPs in Rajya Sabha and 44 MPs in Lok Sabha. Also the Delhi unit has taken a decision to ask all former MPs and MLAs to contribute one lakh each to the party fund. Earlier, the party had asked all members to pay annually Rs 250 of which 75% will go for the AICC and 25 % for the regional units. The new fund crunch hit the party after the fund managers failed to get funds from corporate houses, a key source for party funds.
