Maternity ward in Ernakulam General Hospital under water

Ernakulam: In the heavy rain that lashed in the city, the maternity ward of the Ernakulam General Hospital was immersed in water. The relatives of the patients said that they were in the fear whether this will lead to any sort of infection to the newborn and mother. The Kochi Corporation authorities have asked an explanation from the hospital superintendent. There was knee length water in maternity ward the other day and it took many hours to dry the water. There are also complaints that earlier complaints regarding water entering the hospital during heavy rains were ignored by the hospital authorities.
