Local body polls in first week of November

Kochi: The State Election Commission has informed the Kerala High Court that the elections to the local bodies in the state will be conducted in the beginning of November. The polls schedule will be announced before October 5 and the notification will be issued before October 10. The counting of votes will be completed before November 15, the SEC told the court on Wednesday. The new voters list will be published during next month. Once the election is declared the model code of conduct will come into effect. The election commission also told the court that all arrangements have been made to complete the election process in the state.
