Kerala gets two more National Highways

New Delhi: Union Transport minister Nitin Gadkari announced two new National Highways for Kerala with one coming up at the Kannur international airport and the other at Vizhinjam port. The proposed NH at Vizhinjam will link the port to the Thiruvananthapuram bypass. Nitin Gadkari after holding talks with Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the construction will depend on the state acquisition of land and handing it over to the centre. The Centre is also actively considering Kerala government's request to relax cabotage for the Vizhinjam port and a decision will be taken soon. The decesion on this has to be taken by prime minister. Gadkari said he is expecting a favourable stand from PM.
