Houses pay homage to Dr. Kalam

Exactly ten years after he addressed the Kerala Assembly, the legislators of the state on Tuesday paid homage to former President APJ Abdul Kalam. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy read out the condolence message which was passed by the state assembly. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that though APJ Abdul Kalam was by birth a Tamil Nadu native he worked in Kerala for almost three decades. He said Kalam loved Kerala and his 10-point vision aimed at making the state an economic power house by 2015 was fully endorsed by the state. Opposition Leader VS Achuthanandan said that Kalam was a great visionary who was able to coin development and science. Both Houses of parliament also adjourned after paying homage to Kalam.
