After 54 days strike, Maharaja's college to reopen on Monday

T'puram: The strike launched by the students and teachers of Maharaja's college was withdrawn on the 54th day after the government assured that it will not be given the autonomous status. Other assurances include that government college fees will not be changed and private courses will not be started. The college will open on Monday. The BSc instrumentation and environmental science courses started in between will be converted as government courses. The issue was settled after Additional chief secretary KM Abraham held discussion with the action council members of the Maharaja's college. The council members said that if the government goes back on its assurance than strike will be started again.
