Major security lapse at Nedumbassery airport
Kochi : In a major security lapse at the Nedumbassery airport on Wednesday, passengers of the Air India Express from Sharjah were transported to the domestic arrival terminal without a security check. The flight from Sharjah arrived at Nedumbassery airport at 8.20 am and the passengers who alighted from the aircraft were transported by bus. Instead of the international arrival terminal, the bus transporting the passengers were taken to the domestic section and about 50 passengers of the 180 left the airport without any emigration check. When some passengers created an uproar when their baggages did not turn up, the officials were alerted about the security lapse. The airport director ordered a probe into the incident.
