Palmolein case: Cabinet censures Jiji Thomson for his remark

T'puram: The remarks made by Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson regarding the palmolein case were severely censured at the cabinet meeting. The meeting opined that being a responsible officer Jiji Thomson should not have made such a comment when the government has entered its final year of the current term. He was subjected to severe criticism at the cabinet meeting. Meanwhile, Jiji Thomson clarified that by making such a remark he meant personal matters hold no significance, adding that his words were misinterpreted by the media.
