Aranmula airport project: No permission for EIA study

New Delhi : The expert panel of the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests has not given its permission for the KGS Group to proceed with environmental impact assessment (EIA) study for the proposed Aranmula airport project. The minutes of the panel meeting held on April 23 revealed that the panel had only allotted time for the KGS group to give reply on the complaints regarding the project. The KGS Group had claimed that the expert panel gave it nod to carry on with the EIA study. Meanwhile, Minister of state for Aviation Mahesh Sharma said that the Centre would reconsider its decision on the earlier sanction accorded by it to the Aranmula airport project.
