Is Palakkad defeat, result of backstabbing from own camp?
The UDF sub-committee that looked into the reasons for the defeat of UDF candidate and JD(U) state president MP Veerendra Kumar in Palakkad in the Lok Sabha polls, has recommended action against local Congress leaders responsible for the defeat. DCC president CV Balachandran, P Balagopal, Palakkad DCC secretary and C Chandran, KPCC secretary, who was the general secretary of the poll campaign committee. The report blames the three for lapses. The report points out that even after MP Veerendrakumar, a prominent constituent partner became the UDF candidate, Congress did not become active in the campaign.
