‘Sukritham Home’ cares for abandoned, poor girls

Kozhikode: Sukritham Girls Home spreads sweetness and light into the otherwise dark future of abandoned girls or those suffering from neglect. According to founder V K Mahadev Prasad most of those who wax eloquent on girl’s security fail to provide a safe and homely living environment to such unfortunate children. Started nine years back with just one inmate, now they care for 24 wards in the 5 to 18-year bracket. Chosen girls below the age of 10 are offered education and opportunities to develop their talents and social skills. Courses in self-defense are also imparted. Sharanya P S tells how living in such a loving secure atmosphere enables them to bravely tackle the challenges in life.
