Aleppy: As many 86,000 plus two seats are lying vacant in the state, making clear that there is no need to allot fresh plus two batches. The facts came out when 'Mathrubhumi News,' ran a reality check on the backdrop of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's announcement that more plus two batches would be allotted in the state. Last year, on 1250 seats allotted, in six schools not even a single application has been received. In five schools not even a single student sought admission. There are 38 schools in the state that have plus two batches with less than 25 students. There are five schools in Palakad district where not even a single student preferred admission. In Pathanamthitta and Kannur there is one school each.
